Inside Real Studios: Emily Lapish Photography

It's made a huge difference to have a professional studio space where I can host events, hold consultations, teach workshops, and shoot through the cold winter months (when in the past, clients would wait til the warmer months to book). Tangible products are very important to me both as an artist and a businessperson, and having a studio allows me to showcase my favorite Design Aglow frame collections and albums, as well as huge canvases. We've all heard the phrase "Show what you want to sell" and it definitely rings true; clients don't know that an 11x14 print is small until they see my 38x46 canvas on the wall - and it *doesn't* look huge!

My cozy studio is located in my home in Bentonville, AR. It is easily my favorite spot in the house and my clients feel just as special coming here because of how comfortable and welcoming it is. When we decided to build our home we had the builders close off the (what would have been) garage, add a separate entrance, and we went to work ourselves, finishing it up with shiplap, painted concrete floors, and my props and wall art to decorate the space. I couldn't be more in love with how it all turned out.

Ask The Expert: Phil Chester

I like to think of myself as the guy who escaped Ohio… The Army took me across the ocean, where I spent nearly five miserable years in Iraq and Afghanistan… Yeah, I didn’t like it there. Afghanistan and Iraq are just way too hot for people to get along; I think if there was a country-wide AC unit on full blast everyone would be a lot happier. But it was there, in that unrelenting heat, that I purchased my first DSLR camera and found my passion for photography.

Inside Real Studios: Enchanté Studios

Having a studio has definitely set us apart from other photographers by showing that we mean business and clients know that when they approach us. Since having the studio, it has limited the number of people approaching us on little-to-no budget simply because clients know we have business expenses.

Having the studio has also definitely helped me deliver consistency in our images, which helped our studio to have identifiable signature style on our images. Being in Dubai also means shooting outside during the summer can prove very difficult. So I am relieved that I won't have to put my clients under the 45C (113F) degree heat for sessions.

Inside Real Studios: Head Over Heels Wedding Photography

My goal in renovating my studio was to provide better customer service, superior products and a more streamlined process for my bride and grooms. I use many Design Aglow products in my studio to achieve this beginning with the Big Picture Planner to keep me organized. I use the Pricing Menus to provide a tangible pricing guide to my clients during consultations and sales appointments. In every package I include the digital images from the weddings on the glass USB packaged in the presentation boxes and branded bags.
