Robyn and Maria's new studio!

Robyn and Maria's new studio!

I am so proud of these two...I was in San Francisco for the summer last year and I met these two wonderful ladies, did a little friendly consult, and just days later were studio hunting! We found this little gem in the rough on Union Street, in trendy Cow Hollow. Fast forward seven months later and the renovation is complete and Vertie' is ready to open her doors. Maria Mrasek writes "...we are officially open! I am as proud as a new momma but this is something different, I got to design and create a space that is truly me, with my work blown up HUGE! Tutt and I built and created every inch, I am a proud wife as well. We also got to meet and become partners with two amazing people, Robyn and Shawn (Kessler). We LOVE it! it has turned out exactly as we both dreamed...a little eclectic and funky but warm and yummy. And, we owe it all to you..you were the push and the drive and the little birdie on our shoulders...thanks SOOOO much! The outside still has a ways to go...but it looks really cute for now! Wait till all the details come in to play!"

I can't wait! I may even have to come for an in-person inspection...

I had heard from a number of sources that I should never get into wedding films if I could help it. I would hear tales of bridezillas, endless stress and and backlog of overdue films up to my ears. And I was starting to believe it!

I never really intended to be a wedding photographer or cinematographer. I’ve always had a huge love for movies, and the idea of getting into that industry intrigued me, but I didn’t really know where to start. When I graduated with a degree in communications in 2006 and figured I'd just be at a typical 9-5er for the rest of my life. In 2011 a friend posted on Facebook that she needed someone to videotape her wedding ceremony (happening the next day). I borrowed my brother's canon Rebel and that was my first official wedding. A year later I quit my day job and was shooting weddings full time.
