contest winner: Dennis!

While some of the Design Aglow team were enjoying dinner here in Venice last night (so unfair!), I was having a hard time picking the winner. So, to be totally fair (since we had so many wonderful entries) I let my four year old pick one this morning. I think he did a great job even though he can't even read! Congrats to our reader Dennis!

*Dennis please email me at lena@designaglow.com to claim your prize, any item from the Design Aglow shop! (and I know everyone wants you to tell us what some of your notes said, right?)

Dennis Says: My plans are to take my wife to a nice lunch and then as a family we are going to the City Museum for some fun and adventure. Also we will be opening our valentine box this evening where we have been dropping little notes to each other for the past several weeks. It is such a joy to read what the little ones have on their mind and decide to write down and put in the box. We sometimes find a gum wrapper or two.

Happy V Day everyone....don't forget to call your Mama.

I became a legal business and took my first paid client at age 20, and it's been quite a journey and adventure over the past nine years.

My business goals have changed a lot over the last few years. This year, my hope is to work on a handful of commercial projects with companies I believe in, and to carve out more time to work on personal projects. Both are important, but I believe growth and your creative voice is developed when you let your imagination run free without the constraints of it being “work.”

I secretly bought a mail-order 35mm camera when I was 15, and took lots of ordinary photos of animals and nature for several years. Although I majored in art and studied photography in college, my career started in marketing and advertising, from the client service end. Then I had the most beautiful baby, found my old camera and realized how much I love photographing people.
