Time for another fun and inspiring do-it-yourself project from Ashley Campbell. Enjoy…
This time of the year traditionally marks the beginning of school and getting back into more scheduled days. With school supplies gathered and sharpie in hand, I started labeling all the little possessions headed to school with my kids. The teachers always appreciate a clearly labeled backpack, but it is hard to find tags that are fun and durable. This year I choose to use the Artful Thoughts for Dry Erase Memo Boards product to create personalized tags my kids would love and their teachers would appreciate.
Supplies:
glossy photo paper
access to a laminating machine
hole punch
ribbon or string
I reduced the size and cropped the “Take A Memo” and “Messages” products to create my tags.
After I created 8.5×11 documents to hold several tags on one sheet, I printed my tags at home with photo paper. Next, I trimmed the tags and laminated each one. Most office supply stores, printing stores and teacher resource stores have laminating services. It cost me less than $.10 each for laminating. Finally, I punched a hole in each tag and attached them to backpacks using ribbon and twine.
While I was creating tags I also printed a few of the chore charts and laminated those, as well. Now I am organized and ready for school to be underway!
