Today’s share comes from Liz of Elizabeth & Jane Photography. She writes, “I created a “birth announcement” for my mother’s new adopted dog, Maggie. She isn’t a puppy, but not many people knew my mom was thinking about getting a dog, so this was my way of helping her tell them.

I love how easy it is to customize these templates. I knew from the beginning that I wanted to use one of WHCC’s new boutique card shapes and decided on this ornate one in a portrait orientation. I used the layout from Style 2 of the Cotton Candy Birth Announcements and modified it to fit to the new layout. It was very easy, all I really did was extend the vertical orientation of the image layers. I added an element from Style 1 of the Cotton Candy Birth Announcements and a little paw and bone illustration to finish it up. The final product looks stunning. I ordered the card on Fine Art Linen paper and it’s beautiful – the texture is lovely and it’s thick enough to be a nice postcard.

The custom and unique shape is so different that these kinds of products will make me stand out from the crowd and because the Design Aglow templates are so easy to customize, I don’t need to choose a template made just for the shape I want, because I can use any of them!

The rescue adoption moved very quickly so only our immediate family knew about it so I wanted to create something for her to let the rest of the family and her friends know about her new four-legged addition. I did these as a surprise gift for my mother and she was so excited about them. My mom was blown away by the design, the shape of the card and how unique and fun it was. She has sent them out to family, given them to all of the neighbors and I told her not to forget to keep one for herself!”
