She writes, “I used the Winter edition of the Studio Newsletter Collection in combination with my branding to create printed and digital versions of the newsletter. I adapted the color palette and added my patterning to the design layout to bring a cohesive branding identity to the project. Some of the text remained nearly identical, while other sections I completely changed to give it a really personal voice. I played with the ideas of celebrating the Winter season so that it felt fresh, fun & inviting of responses.
I love all four seasons of the newsletter templates and can’t wait to get started on creating the next one for this Spring. The templates are a great source of inspiration and so adaptable to working with my branding. It was incredibly easy to create this first newsletter.
Since most of my marketing focus up until recently has been my weddings, I thought this would be a great way to reach out to my current client base and larger network to say hello. My goal is to encourage the connections between the different aspects of my portrait work with my wedding & event work. I wanted to experiment with both a digital version as well as a printed piece, so I choose to mail 100 to my most recent clients & use mail chimp for an e-blast.
The clients who received the mailed hard copy version were really wowed by the quality and extensive thought, as well as enjoying the humor within some of the copies. Several of my recent clients were so excited to see themselves included in the piece. I had a little client contest included and received email responses immediately back. One of the things I am learning is that timing is crucial in the e-blast newsletter world. I sent the newsletter out very close to the X-mas holiday…via email, Facebook & Twitter. Although it was clearly looked at by many people, I think that some of the excitement was lost in the busy time of holiday preparations. I will definitely take this into consideration as I prepare the Spring, Summer & Fall editions.”
