We love when products are used together to create an even more interesting product. In this case, Heidi of HJ Selch Photography shares, “My family moved from the States to Hong Kong in January and with all that was going on I didn’t get Christmas cards sent out, so I decided to put together a “we have moved” card instead. Please send your 8h x12w @ 72 dpi images of finished products to us here. If you have more than one image, we would like you to put it in a zipped folder before you upload. The best part? If we use your images on the blog, you will receive a $75 credit.

Here are some great tips for successful product photos:
• use good, natural light, a simple background and avoid glares
• prop up flat pieces, like cards, instead of laying them flat on a table
• use a variety of angles and crops
• sharp, sharp, sharp, sharp. oh – did we say sharp?
• avoid using too many props; some props can add a nice pop of color, but products can get lost very fast with tons of props

We are so excited to announce our First Annual Video Contest, and want YOU to be the star of our production.

This is a call for a 10-20 second video submissions. Tell us what you love about Design Aglow, and your video could chosen as part of our first ever fan created collaboration, which will be seen by thousands of photographers, worldwide.

Our very favorite video will win a GRAND PRIZE gift certificate to the Design Aglow shop in the super mega amount of $350! But that’s not all…. every single video we feature will receive a Design Aglow gift certificate for $25. Why a video you ask?  Well, as much anyone loves a good pat on the back, we designed this contest to be a creative alternative to market research.  Since spreadsheets and surveys aren’t our style, we’ve decided to gather our customer reviews in a fun, interactive way.
